alegio chocolate is an artisan chocolate company located in palo alto, california. their chocolate is sourced and crafted on the islands of São Tomé in West Africa, with a philosophy rooted in fair trade, sustainability, and biodynamic farming practices.
i first came to alegio chocolate through a branding competition. soon, i visited the shop in-person and learned about their business model—in-person sales are mostly reliant on one avenue, and online sales remain stagnant.
i work at the intersection of consumer research, marketing, and sales growth. i act as a product manager for alegio chocolate, overseeing the throughline of production to gross sales.
the first phase of my internship includes strengthening the brand's current marketing through greater social media presence, website seo, and in-person events. specifically, i will be improving alegio's presence on red note, their greatest customer base.
